The government will motivate Nigerlites to strive towards self sufficiency and for export, instead of relying heavily on imports. In its effort to motivate farmers, the government has/will put in place a package of incentives, which include the provision of farmland, assistance in land clearing, and loan guarantees.

The Governor pointed out that farming provides an avenue through which the country’s economic base could be broadened while contributing to the country’s food security.

It is the Chief Servant’s intention that we desist from almost total reliance on petroleum, an industry almost driven by external forces.
