ANPP CHAIRMAN, OTHERS DECAMP TO PDP

The Chief Servant and Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu has officially received 250 people including the Acting State Chairman of the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) who decamped to the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Addressing the decampees in Minna, Dr. Aliyu stated that they were initially in the P.D.P. but that they were compelled to leave the party because of the problems that hitherto existed adding that they decided to return to the new improved PDP in the State as a result of the progress visibly recorded by the party.

While expressing delight at the decision of the decampees, the Chief Servant assured that a combined reception will be organised next month to coincide with the one year anniversary of the present leadership of the party in the State.

In his address, the State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Mahmud Enagi welcomed the decampees and urged them to avoid anti-party activities and strictly obey the constitution and manifesto of the party. He advised the decampees not to start jostling for executive positions in the party, saying already party elections have been conducted and executive members are in place. The Chairman then called on other members of the opposition parties in the State to emulate these decampees and join the largest party in Africa (PDP) for the progress and speedy development of the State.

Responding on behalf of the decampees, Alhaji Saidu Takuma who was until now the Acting State Chairman of the ANPP assured that they will remain loyal members of the PDP and will assist the State Government and the Governor to achieve the objectives of moving the State forward.

While thanking the party Chairman, he called on Nigerlites "who think that they are sitting on top of the party's umbrella" to swallow their pride and follow the foot steps of the Chief Servant in moving the State forward.
